After
living in Los Angeles following college, Nick moved to Florida permanently
and is pleased to call Delray Beach home. In 2002, Nick formed Loeb
Investments, a private investment company and has continued the growth
of his investment ventures; he also joined Lehman Brothers in Palm Beach.
At Loeb Investments he partnered with HGC Capital, an environmental
remediation firm to create carbon credits though methane capture of
landfills in alignment with the UN's Clean Development Mechanism and
in 2006, Mr. Loeb founded Carbon Solutions America, the first independent
climate change consulting firm in the South East, United States.
While
getting involved in the community, Nick founded H.E.L.P. Delray which
stands for Help Empower Local People, which focuses on helping the minority
community secure home ownership. He has held a fundraiser's at his
home for Kids in Distress, Step up for Students, The Caldwell Theater,
and The Palm Beach International Film Festival. Nick was a volunteer
with Palm Beach Fire Rescue, The American Red Cross, lectured at Florida
Atlantic University and also volunteered as a substitute teacher at
Atlantic High School. He also serves on several boards which include,
The Caldwell Theater, Broward County Crime Commission, and the Florida
School Choice Fund Board. Previous boards include, The Palm Beach International,
Film Festival, The Children's Coalition, Jewish Federation-Metro Board,
Variety International, Boca Raton Educational Television, The Center
for the Arts, and YMCA Scholarship Committee.
In
Delray Beach he joined the Delray Beach Rotary Club, Old School Square,
Downtown Joint Venture, the Chairman's Club of the Chamber of Commerce
and BIZPAC. Nick has also supported the American Heart Association,
Delray Beach Firefighters, Chris Evert Charities and Delray Citizens
for Delray Police. The Mayor and City Commissioners of Delray
Beach appointed him to the city's Nuisance Abatement Board. Nick was
also a member of the Education Foundation for the Delray Beach Chamber
of Commerce. The Chamber has also nominated Nick for the Ken Ellingsworth
Community Service Award.
In
California, Nick began worked at Universal Studios in corporate development
and motion picture finance before forming IPC (International Production
Company) where he produced an MGM film THE SMOKERS and a documentary
series with Executive Producer Barbara Streisand, THE LIVING CENTURY.
In California, Nick joined the board of the Los Angeles Sheriffs Star
Organization, which creates scholarships for children of deputies who
have died in the line of duty. He then completed the rigorous and challenging
training of the Police Academy, receiving two awards of merit and then
served as a Reserve Deputy for the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
He also volunteered at Santa Monica High School as an athletic coach,
a big brother to inner city children and provided fellowships to UCLA
doctors. Nick served and contributed to the; "Escada Heart Committee"
for the G & P Foundation for Cancer Research, host committee for
the Starbright Foundation, and The Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis.
Nick
was the Florida Co-Chairman for Rudy Giuliani's All-American Team.
He was also involved in political campaigns such as George W. Bush for
President 2000, 2004 and United States Treasurer, Rosario Marin for
U.S. Senate. He was member of the Council of Trustees for the Republican
Party of Palm Beach County, a board member of the Boca Raton Republican
Club and served as an alternate committeeman for the Republican Executive
Committee. Nick has raised money for Mel Martinez for U.S. Senate, Marc
Holtzman for Governor of Colorado, Katherine Harris for US Senate, and
Attorney General Charlie Crist for Governor of Florida. He has also
become a member of the Heritage Foundation, Council for National Policy,
Club for growth and the Presidents Club for the Republican National
Committee.
Nick
earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Finance from the A.B.
Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana
in 1998. Nick feels fortunate to have been mentored by such esteemed
leaders and family members like his cousin, Edgar Bronfman, Jr. formerly
of Seagrams-Universal and his father Ambassador John Loeb of Loeb Rhoades
and Lehman Brothers. Nick has an older sister Alexandra Driscoll who
resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and two children and a younger
sister Lacey Mehran who graduated from the Yale School of Management
and now works in private equity for Veronis Suhler Stevenson.
